St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School is a diocesan, Roman Catholic high school in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester on 45 Harvard Street in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
History
St. Bernard's was established as an all-girls school in 1920 by the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The school became co-educational in 1926. The school was designated as a regional diocesan high school in 1953.
In 1962, there were major additions to the school's athletic facilities at the Bernardian Bowl and two years later the school itself was expanded. This included an entire new wing with a cafeteria, library, offices and ten classrooms. The school's activity center was built in 1980 down the street near the Bernardian Bowl and its gymnasium seated 1,000 people.
Today, St. Bernard's has just under 200 students attending from all over Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Its graduation and college acceptances rates are both in the 96-98% range.
