St. Paul's R.C. Academy is a Roman Catholic secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. The school was established in 2009 as a merger between Lawside Academy and St. Saviours High School. The combined school occupies a new site on Gillburn Road in the Kirkton area of Dundee, with the two previous sites left empty. As it is north of St. John's, the other Catholic secondary school in Dundee, St. Paul's Academy succeeds Lawside in holding the position as the northernmost state Catholic secondary school in Europe. The academy is named after Paul the Apostle, Paul being the middle name of the Right Reverend Vincent Logan, the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Dunkeld. The school has 4 houses named after saints: St. Andrew, St. Columba, St. Margaret, St. Ninian, and St. Patrick.
As of 2015 the school has an enrollment of 784 students and although the school is Catholic, it welcomes all religious backgrounds. St Pau'ls offers a wide range of subjects in it's curriculum, whilst following the CfE. The core subjects are English, Mathematics, Religious Education, P.E and PSE. Other subjects included in the curriculum are Art, Music, History, Modern Studies, Geography, Admin, Computing Science, Biology and many more. At St Paul's, courses are available at a wide range of levels including the new National levels 3, 4 and 5 as well as Higher and Advanced Higher depending on the subject.
In May 2016, Mr. John Carrol retired as rector and Ms. Teresa Little assumed the role, becoming the second Head Teacher of St Paul's, and the first ever female rector of the school. Ms. Little is determined on improving St Paul's performance overall and making it a better school and a better part of the community and particularly trying to decrease the litter. Instead of usual registration periods every morning, pupils in S1-S3 now get "house time" and "inter-disciplinary learning", both for once a week. This, along with Dundee City Council pushing the periods per week to 33 from 30 has increased learning and hopefully, exam results
