History

A church of St Simon was established in Castle Hill (Sydney) very early in the colonies history, however, it closed by the middle of the 19th century. As the district population increased, however, a new parish was established in Castle Hill named for St Paul. The new church building was constructed of brick and was located on Old Northern Road south of the township. A sand stone parsonage was constructed opposite the church from materials of the old St Simons church building. Both buildings remain today and are subject of preservation orders. This church building served the parish until the end of the latter half of the 20th century when a larger facility was constructed at Rogans Hill on land owned by the church, that lay adjacent to Oak Hill College. The new facilities cater to a congregation of over a 1000.
