Sredgora

Sredgora ([ˈsɾeːdɡɔɾa]; German: Mittenwald) is a settlement in the Municipality of Semič in Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.

The village was inhabited by Gottschee Germans that were expelled in 1941 during the Second World War and was burned to the ground in 1944. The local church, now a ruin, was dedicated to Mary Magdalene and belonged to the Parish of Planina.
