Hiromi Ozaki (born 1985), better known by her pseudonym Sputniko!, is a British/Japanese artist and designer. Sputniko!'s work falls within the practice of critical design. She invents devices and creates songs and music videos which include the devices in their diegeses. Although they serve as theatrical props, the devices are fully realized prototypes built in collaboration with scientists. Her work focuses on the social, cultural, and ethical implications of new technologies, often through the lens of feminism and gender issues. Her style is a mixture of British black humor and Japanese pop. She is also an Assistant Professor of Media Arts and Sciences of the MIT Media Lab.
