Sportdate is a dating service on the web for active singles and friends. The site was founded in Sweden 2010 and is developed by licensed physiotherapists, personal trainers and engineers from Sweden. Since the start in December 2010 thousands of singles have registered as members. The initial users of the matchmaking service were given free charter memberships for signing up, in an effort to build up the initial database of users.
According to the Sportdate websites, 48% of their members are men, and 52% are women members. The site has members in six different countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, England, Germany). The site is often mentioned in the media, for example Internetworld and DN when it comes to dating and training related issues.
