Cassidy my interpretation

Background and recording

In 2003, the recording sessions was beginning to take place on the album, where it was divided into three parts. The first part of the record (credited as "Cassidy") was the reflection based upon his pop side. The second part of the record (credited as "The Problem") was directly towards his fans, who gave their support, following his mixtapes. The third and final part of the record (credited to "B. Reese") was directly towards his fans, who have supported him since his early days of his rap career. During the whole development, Cassidy recorded a track and serving as the album's lead single, called "Hotel" (which is a reference on the song "Housewife", included from Dr. Dre's album 2001) featuring an American R&B singer-songwriter R. Kelly, and it was during the recording session at the Kelly's Chicago studios with its vocal contribution by Kelly. R. Kelly vocal contributions also was on the official remix to "Hotel", with the featuring guest vocals from an American female rapper Trina. The song became a hit and it has reached at the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, as of February 2004. The song was nominated for the Vibe Award for the "Coolest Collabo" in that same year. The album's second single, "Get No Better", which features a guest appearances from his label-mate and American R&B singer Mashonda. That song did not do as well on the singles charts, however, it did reached at number 82 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was accompanying by a music video, which features a cameo appearances by Vida Guerra. Cassidy also recorded these two tracks, "Take It" and "Make You Scream Pt.2", in which these song were initially going to be included on the album. However, these songs didn't make it on the final track listing, only became the releases of the official promotional singles from the album.[2][3]

Allmusic described the album as "a minor disappointment while simultaneously showing promise". Its review considered the first third of the album as the disappointing section. It considered the best tracks as "Hotel", "Can I Talk to You" and "Real Talk".
