Sphinx leucophaeata is a moth of the family Sphingidae. It is known from north-western Mexico with an occasional stray into Texas.

The length of the forewings is 62–75 mm. The forewing uppersides are pale bluish grey, with two prominent, dark median streaks, a long, black apical line, and a weak, undulating, black submarginal line.

There is probably one generation per year with adults on wing from late June to early August.
