These are the results of the 500 metres speed skating event at the 1924 Winter Olympics. It was the first event of the Games, held on Saturday, January 26, 1924, which makes Charles Jewtraw the first gold medal winner in Winter Olympic Games history. Twenty-seven speed skaters from 10 nations competed.
