Special Security Division (SSD) is a newly raised division of Pakistan Army tasked with providing security to the under construction China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the workforce employed on the project. The unit will have 15,000 troops when built to full strength and would comprise 9 army composite battalions (9,000 personnel) and six civil armed forces (CAFs) wings (6,000 personnel). The security force consists of highly trained special forces potent enough to counter any threat emerging to the Mega Project of CPEC.
