Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly is the political head of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Elected by the Members of the Assembly, the speaker's statutory duty is to preside over the sitting and deliberations of the Assembly. The Speaker also represents the voters of his or her constituency. Since inauguration of the state house of assembly on October 2, 1979, there have been 7 legislative assemblies with 8 representative holding the office of Speaker. The Speaker of the 1st Legislative Assembly is Rt. Hon Oladosun Oshinowo and the incumbent speaker is Rt. Hon. Mudashiru A. Obasa
