The southern chestnut-tailed antbird (Myrmeciza hemimelaena) is a species of bird in the family Thamnophilidae. The Clements taxonomy, Version 2016, however, calls it chestnut-tailed antbird and has updated the scientific name to Sciaphylax hemimelaena. It is found in the Amazon Rainforest in far southern Colombia, eastern Peru, northern Bolivia, and western and central Brazil.
