The Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm football program was established in 2000. Their home games are played at Southern Nazarene University's McFarland Park Stadium. In 2007 the Crimson Storm won their first home opener game. Since 2012, SNU has been competing in the NCAA's Division II Great American Conference.

The head coach and offensive coordinator for the Crimson Storm is Mike Cochran. Cochran's all-time record is 86-48 (40-36 at SNU). Other coaching staff include Craig Hubbard as the Defensive Coordinator, Jeremy Wirth as the Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach, Steve Lykes as the Defensive Backs Coach Micah Anderson as the Outside Linebackers Coach, Clay Rhodes as the Tight Ends Coach, Eric Michael as the Running Backs and Special Teams Coach, Billy Sexton as the Strength Coach, and Jeff Seyfert as the Academic Coordinator.
