Solanum bahamense, the Bahama nightshade, is a plant species in the nightshade family, Solanaceae. It is also known as canker berry, and locally as berengena de playa.
Originally described by Carl Linnaeus, it has a convoluted taxonomic history. S. bahamense is known by many junior synonyms and involved in several cases of homonymy.
Solanum bahamense as described by Peter Forsskål refers to S. glabratum. The S. bahamense of Philip Miller is S. donianum.
