The Sofia Symphonic Orchestra (Bulgarian: Софийски симфоничен оркестър) is a symphony orchestra. It was founded in 1928 under the supervision of Bulgarian musician Alexander Popov. He was the chief conductor of the orchestra until 1956. The present activity is carried out by the symphony orchestra, the chamber orchestra, the academic choir and several chamber assemblies. Martin Panteleev was the chief conductor of the Sofia Symphonic Orchestra from 2011 until 2016.

The Sofia Philharmonic is a major cultural organization with its own concert hall "Bulgaria", uniting under its auspices, not only the symphony orchestra of 120 musicians, but also the National Philharmonic Choir "Sviatoslav Obretenov" (80 singers), "Sofia String Quartet" ( Head of Angel Stankov), as well as numerous chamber ensembles.
