Skyfest Celebration was a million-balloon salute to recognize Disneyland Park's 30th year in operation and to commemorate what would have been its creator, Walt Disney's 84th birthday, sponsored by Anaheim, California.

The event took place on December 5, 1985 with included representatives from Disneyland Park, Anaheim city government, schools, and local non-profit organizations. One thousand tubes, each containing 1,000 balloons, were all launched at exactly 2:00 p.m. along Katella Avenue between Harbor Boulevard and West Street, filling the sky with a multi-colored, helium-filled spectacular sight.

This launch far exceeded the previous world's record of the release of 384,800-balloons in Japan the previous year.
