Sitki Abi, is a former Turkish football player and coach born on 19 March 1963 in Izmir. He was nicknamed as Baba(father) by the fans due to his calm and professional nature on the field, and he was regarded highly by the football fans across the country. His nickname was previously given to giants of the earlier era like Gunduz Kilic and Hakki Yeten, proving his high reputation.
Sitki Baba started his career in the youth academy of the local club Menemenspor. His exceptional talent was scouted by all of the big clubs and he was signed by Fenerbahce in 1983 with a record transfer fee of his time. He quickly rose to become one of the fans favourites in Fenerbahce after three successful years. He needed to quit professional football relatively early in 1990 because of a long-time injury and started his career as a youth coach. He coached Turkish U-15 and U-17 national teams.
