Simpson Arc

Built in 1937, the Simpson Arc is an architectural structure at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.

Description

A plaque inside the arc bears the following inscription:

The Simpson Arch

The Simpson Arch is an important part of Roswell Park Cancer Institute's history. Named for our 3rd director, Dr. Burton Simpson, this was the entrance to the institute's second hospital built in 1937. The arch has been preserved as a tribute to the remarkable scientists, clinicians, nurses, educators, technicians, support staff, students, and volunteers who have contributed to Roswell Park's tradition of excellence and compassionate care for more than a century.

Dedicated June 26, 2002
