Simone Lucchesi (born May 18, 1973 in Massa Marittima, Italy) is a association football Strength and conditioning coach. During his career he worked with Italian football teams like U.C. Sampdoria, U.S. Lecce and S.S. Lazio. On July 2013 he was appointed strength and conditioning coach of the newly reborn New York Cosmos who play in the North American Soccer League(NASL).

Career

Lucchesi attended college in Italy at University of Florence. He graduated in Physical Education in 1999 and later in Sport Sciences and Technics (2006). In 2001 he started his coaching career with U.S. Grosseto, followed immediately after from the juvenile team of A.C. Siena. Thanks to his partnership with the head coach Giuseppe Papadopulo, began in 2004, he achieved his breakthrough and began to work with top football Clubs in Italy. At Papadopulo's side he trained S.S. Lazio and U.S. Lecce, that was promoted, in 2007, from Serie B to Serie A. After some years in minors league with A.C. Mezzocorona and U.S. Gavorrano Lucchese came back to the high level teams with U.S. Sampdoria in 2011 with head coach Giuseppe Iachini at first, and later with the new appointed coach Ciro Ferrara . In his first year with the team, U.S. Sampdoria was promoted, after only one year of permanence in Serie B, to serie A. On 2013 Lucchesi moved to the United States, being appointed Strength and Conditioning Coach for the newly reborn New York Cosmos from the head coach Giovanni Savarese. During their first Championship the New York Cosmos win the Fall Season Championship and the NASL Soccer Bowl .
