The Silver State Diamond Challenge is a minor league baseball rivalry between Nevada's two Triple-A baseball franchises, the Las Vegas 51s and the Reno Aces. The rivalry was started in 2009, after the Tucson Sidewinders relocated to Reno, Nevada. The winner of the season series between the 51s and Aces receives the Silver Plate Trophy, a silver replica of home plate with the left side representing the image of the state of Nevada and markings for the site of Las Vegas and Reno, while the opposite side lists the champion of the trophy and series for each year.

If the season series is tied following the final game of the season between the two teams, then the mayor of each city will draw cards to break the tie. This was the case in the challenge's inaugural season in which Las Vegas and Reno each won 8 of the 16 meetings. A card draw would occur at Aces Ballpark in downtown Reno with Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman drawing a 7, while Reno mayor Bob Cashell drew a 6, effectively giving the 51s the Silver Plate Trophy for 2009.
