The Silver Award is the second highest award of the Girl Scouts of the USA, and the highest award that a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. Only Cadette Scouts ages 11–14 or in grades 6-8 can earn the Silver Award.

Requirements

Girls must complete a Cadette Journey prior to beginning their project. Once the journey is completed, girls must complete a 50-hour service project that is sustainable and educational.Upon completion of the Silver Award project, the Girl Scout may need to submit the Girl Scout Silver Award report to her local Girl Scout Council.

If girls decide not to complete their Silver Award, they may not go back after they bridge to a Senior to complete the award.

Girls may work by themselves or in groups of 2-4 girls.
