Critical reception

Taste of Country reviewed the song favorably, saying that the girls "stay true to the instantly contagious hooks and riffs that make Start Here such an enjoyable listen out of the box". Website "Saving Country Music" highly praised the song and described it as "up-tempo and twangy, with fiddle and steel guitar right out front and a story fit for Dolly or Tammy with a few modernizations".
