Siege of Kars was one of the most important battles of the Russo-Turkish War (1828–29). After a brief siege, the Russian forces under Ivan Paskevich took the fortified city of Kars in Turkish Armenia from the Ottomans. The battle itself lasted three days, from 20 to 23 June 1828.
