The Shell National Youth Active Chess Championship is a yearly chess competition held in the Philippines, opened for young chess enthusiasts, male or female, with amateur experience in playing the sport, and qualified for three divisions, Kiddie (for 7 to 12 years old), Junior (for 13 to 16 years old) and Seniors (for 17 to 20 year old).

Founded in 1992, the chess tournament is organized by Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation under the Social Investment Program, and duly sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP), the national sports association for the said sport which they obeyed and followed the overall rules and regulations, the tournament envisions for the development and the continuously implementation of the grassroots program for future grandmasters.

It is also where the likes of Oliver Dimakiling and Wesley So first grew playing with the sport by competing in the said competition, before they rosed into fame as chess grandmasters, after which they participating in local and international tourneys and winning different titles.

2015 edition

The tournament had five elimination phases held in different SM Supermalls spanning across National Capital Region, Southern Luzon, Visayas, Southern Mindanao and Northern Mindanao in June to August of the same year, with the national finals recently held at the SM Megamall Activity Center last September 19 to 20. Leading the cast of the 48 participants from different parts of the country in the championships are 2015 NCR Leg winners Marc Labog, Julius Gonzales and Jerome Aragones.

In the end, Daniel Quizon and Genesis Borromeo, dominated the Kiddie and Junior categories, while veteran McDominque Lagula won the title for the Senior category in the National finals.
