Shargacucullia lychnitis, the striped lychnis is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found throughout most parts of Europe the Near East and Middle East (Lebanon, Israel, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Iraq).
The wingspan is 42–47 mm. Adults are on wing from February to April in the eastern parts of its range. In Britain it is on wing from June to July. There is one generation per year.
The larvae feed on Verbascum species (including Verbascum lychnitis, Verbascum nigrum and Verbascum austriacum).
