Semicircle law states that for transport (extended states) of 2D electron gas in a magnetic field, the macroscopic conductivity tensor σ satisfies the semicircle law.

σ 1 σ 2 + ( σ h σ h 0 ) = ( e 2 / ( 2 h ) 2

with σ h 0 = ( N + 1 / 2 ) e 2 / h
