The Select Group is a panel of professional football referees and assistant referees appointed by the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOB) to officiate matches in the Premier League, as well as the Football League, FA Cup and Football League Cup. A number of the officials on the site have been selected to officiate in matches run by FIFA. The panel was established in 2001, when referees in England became professional.
Select Group 2 Referees
In December 2015, the PGMOL announced that from the 2016/17 season a new Select Group 2 will be created to officiate primarily in the Championship, this will be made up of 18 referees, 12 full-time and 6 part-time who will train with their Select Group colleagues.
