Seal-Lock or "Sealock" (improper use) is a cargo container seal that also locks the container, pronounced "seal - lock", not "sea-lock". It was invented by Jeffrey H. Liroff in 1996 and granted numerous United States patents. The Sealock name is now used generically in the vernacular to describe any cargo container locking device. However, in the UK, the term "Container Lock" is most widely used in the freight industry.
