Señor Frog’s is a Mexican-theme franchised "infamous party scene" bar and grill in tourist destinations throughout Mexico, the Caribbean, South America and the United States. "You go to Señor Frog’s when you're on vacation, if you want to get crazy and nobody knows you," chief executive David Krouham told Forbes magazine.

Contents

In Mexico and the western Caribbean, about 75% of their revenues come from alcoholic beverage sales. In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, however, they've been unable to promote drinking as successfully; food outsells liquor there by a slight margin.

Promotions like drinking contests and a novelty take-home yard of ale glass bring the chain $33 per check, 50% more than the Hard Rock Cafe achieves. They further promote alcohol sales with an "anything goes" atmosphere; one of their theme parties was a pajama party, with guests swimming in a pool filled with beer.

Señor Frog's is frequently portrayed in the television series Arrested Development by a restaurant of the name Señor Tadpole's.

History

Señor Frog’s is owned by Grupo Anderson's, founded in 1963, who claims their more than 50 restaurants makes it Mexico's largest restaurateur. In addition to Señor Frog’s, Grupo Anderson's has the Carlos'n Charlie's chain.
