The Brussels School is a style or school of sculpture in the Middle Ages. It was born in the 15th century with the construction of Brussels's Hôtel de Ville and Claus Sluter's arrival in Brussels - he lived there from 1380 to 1385 before moving to Dijon.
Until the end of the Ancien Régime, sculptors in Brussels were members of the Quatre Couronnés Guild and then the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts.
Brussels had notable sculptors such as Jerôme Duquesnoy (I), François Duquesnoy, Jerôme Duquesnoy (II), Marc de Vos (1650–1717), Pierre van Dievoet (1661–1729), Jean Cosyn, Corneille van Nerven, Jean de Kinder, Jacques Bergé, Jean-Baptiste Fleuriot-Lescot (1761-year II, guillotined), Godecharle, and François Lejeune.
