Scott Basinger: A Tribute
Scott Basinger is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Houston. He teaches courses in statistics, mathematics, game theory, and political scandals. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego. He has authored numerous articles, including an award-winning article on how countries reform their personal and corporate income taxes response to globalization. Along with Howie Lavine, he coined the term "partisan ambivalence" to describe the situation in which voters hold conflicted attitudes towards political parties. Most recently, he authored papers on political scandals, examining how presidents deal with scandal once confronted by the media, and how voters respond to scandals involving members of Congress.
