Schools in India follow a curriculum determined by the type of school, its location, and its choice of provider.

International Curriculum Schools

These are schools following the IGCSE or International Baccalaureate (IB) programme from pre-primary to Grade 10, and IGCSE or IB Diploma Programme from Grade 11 to Grade 12.

National Curriculum Schools

These are schools following the CBSE or ICSE board from Pre-primary to Grade 10, and any of CBSE, ISC, IGCSE or IB from Grade 11 to Grade 12.

State Curriculum Schools

These schools are affiliated to individual education boards of the states of India. Examples are Punjab School Education Board, West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, Haryana Board of School Education, and Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

School curriculum providers

In India, organizations are also involved in providing curricula. For example, a voluntary organization called 'Preschool for Child Rights' provides a pre-primary curriculum to schools.
