Early life

Born in Malta, Harrison began her career as a child, hosting a children's television show on ONE TV in Malta. At the age of eleven, she moved to London, where she began attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003

In 2003, at the age of 13, Harrison represented Malta in its debut at the inaugural Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003. She performed the self-written song "Like a Star", which placed seventh with 56 points.

Film and television work

In 2006, she featured as one of the subjects of the Channel 4 documentary My Crazy Life. The series followed Harrison's quest for fame and her family's sacrifices to support her. In 2007, Harrison applied for and was granted a three-year Dada award to enable her to study Performing Arts at Laine Theatre Arts. She wrote and produced a 30-minute-long musical, entitled "NO BALLS".

Harrison appeared as an extra in a Harry Potter film. With other select children, she had recording sessions at Abbey Road studios for the Disney and Walden Media film version of CS Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

2011–2013: Sarah Harrison DJ/Producer and commercial breakthrough

In the beginning of 2013, her friend Renate Putrus introduced Harrison to MegaMan, founder and creator of the So Solid Crew. MegaMan, who had previously heard Harrison DJ at Skepta's 'Blacklisted' launch party, took an interest in Harrison and her knowledge of hip-hop. Later, Harrison hosted the DJ spot for So Solid's 'They Don't Know' tour and 'For The Last Ever' tour with special guests Wiley, Ms Dynamite, Wretch 32, Chip, and Lethal Bizzle.

Releasing her first mix in October 2012, Harrison's passion for trap music became apparent, leading to her adopting the title 'UK Lady of Trap'. This inspired the title of her mix CD volumes LadyAndTheTRAP. Her interest in this subgenre of hip-hop arose from her enthusiasm for beat-making, as well as her obsession with the 808 drum machine. Although she specialises in this niche, her DJ sets encapsulate the hip-hop/R&B umbrella as a whole, and also feature tracks from EDM culture.

Harrison's interest in producing was boosted by a meeting with Quincy Jones, who worked with her role model, Michael Jackson. Her first break came in early 2012, when Snoop Dogg heard her tracks on Soundcloud; Dogg personally contacted her with an invite to fly out to record with him while on his European summer tour.

2014–

In September 2013, Harrison took a trip to Atlanta, USA, where she was the host DJ for the International Music conference, which made new transatlantic opportunities for her. Back in the UK, Harrison became the official DJ for the UK female artist, Paigey Cakey. Harrison got her self-titled weekly Wednesday radio show, The Sarah Harrison Show, on Bang 103.60FM London, attracting a wide audience both in the UK and US. "LadyInTheTrap", a name trademarked by Harrison, is a name frequently billed on line-ups for Faded, Vinyl London, Love Dough, and Carpie Diem. In February 2014, Harrison found herself on the set of BET 106 & Park in New York and was invited to the Hot 97 studios by Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg. Two months later, Sarah Harrison became the first UK female DJ to feature on Hot 97.
