Sarah, Plain and Tall: Winters End is the third of three television films based on the trilogy of childrens books by Patricia MacLachlan. The first was Sarah, Plain and Tall and its sequel was Skylark. Though they do not share a title, the events in the film Winters End are taken from MacLachlans book Calebs Story, though in order to appeal to a more adult audience than the childrens books the events are expanded and the tone made slightly more serious. The movie premiered in 1999 and is part of the Hallmark Hall of Fame collection of movies.
