Sara Berman is an American philanthropist, journalist, and director of Jewish organizations.

Berman was born on New York city's Upper East Side. Berman is the daughter of philanthropist Michael Steinhardt. She has six children and is married to Mark Bloom. Her eldest step-son, Yehuda Bloom attends Lander College. Her eldest child, Jacob Berman, attends Princeton University .

Berman has been an editor at The Forward and was the parenting columnist for the New York Sun newspaper. She is a trustee of the Steinhardt Foundation for Jewish Life.
In January 2009, Berman was heading the application process for the Hebrew Language Academy Charter School.
