Saparmyrat Batyrow (born 1954; also known as Saparmyrat Batyrov or Saparmurat Batyrov) is the Turkmen Minister of Textile Industry, cotton factory director and presidential candidate in the Turkmenistani presidential election, 2012. He received only 0.19% of the votes, most likely due to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow's powerful rule. He served in the army between 1973-1975 and since 2010 he has been director of the Geoktepe cotton spinning factory which part of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan. In the past he has held various appointments mainly in the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan. He received the "Turkmenistanyn Garassyzlygynyn 20 yyllygyna Jubilee Medal" and is married and has 5 children.
