The subdistrict was created effective May 1, 1991 by splitting off 8 administrative villages from Yang Khram.

The tambon is subdivided into 9 administrative villages (muban).
Local administration
The whole area of the subdistrict is covered by the subdistrict municipality (Thesaban Tambon) Santi Suk (เทศบาลตำบลสันติสุข).
