Sant Sipahi (English: Saint-Soldier) was the ideological shift of the Sikhs under the inspiration of the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind, following the execution of his predecessor, Guru Arjan Dev.

Guru Gobind Singh (Tenth guru of Sikhs) too was an inspiration for the concept of Sant Sipahi using the established selfless philosophy instructed by the Ad Granth, the ideology was fused with the martial art known as Gatkha, also created by Hargobind. Sant Sipahi describes a saint soldier who would adhere ones life in strict discipline both in mind and body.

Becoming a weapon for altruistic purposes, raising the sword to protect the innocent in corporal, temporal and spiritual defence. A Sant Sipahi is dedicated to selfless service, the creator and does not utilize enlightenment nor physical superiority for personal gain.
