Samuel Smith (academic)

Walter Alvah Samuel Smith, aka Samuel Smith, was the second President of Athabasca University, and in 1984 was awarded an honorary degree from that institution.

Smith prior to assuming his role as President, he was Dean of Arts at Simon Fraser University. He later went on to become President of the University of Lethbridge.
