Samuel Cary was a 19th-century America author.
He was born November 24, 1785 to the Rev. Thomas Cary (minister of the Third Parish in Newbury, Massachusetts), and Esther Carter (daughter of Nathaniel Carter) in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Samuel Cary graduated from Harvard University in 1804, and was ordained on January 1, 1809 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1811, Cary was married, and died on October 22, 1815.
