Sam's Wines and Spirits was a Chicago-based liquor superstore chain. It had four stores in the Chicago area. The company's flagship store being in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood was the largest grossing liquor outlet in the United States. Other locations were in suburban Downers Grove, the South Loop, and Highland Park, Illinois.
Sam's had been in business since 1946 and boasted the largest selection of any retailer in the USA. Brian Rosen, the 37-year-old President of Sam's had planned to grow the business nationally. Sam's had been the 13th most recognized brand name in Illinois and is on the tourist list for a must see in Chicago.
In October, 2009, Sam's Wines and Spirits was bought by rival Binny's Beverage Depot.
