Publication history

She first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #499 (Jun. 2008). She continued to appear in the following issues of the same book.

Fictional character biography

She was elected mayor of San Francisco prior to the X-Men's arrival in California. When "The Goddess" cast an illusion on the entire city, making them believe it was the 60's hippie era, Sadie started wandering around the city, thinking only about soap bubbles and remembering nothing but her hippie name "Sunflower Moonfly" and the fact that she was someone important the morning before. She was saved from being hit by a truck by Angel. She then gladly offered the X-Men sanctuary in San Francisco.

Following the Cooperstone Massacre video footage leak, she expressed concern in rising anti-mutant activity. Also, she burst into a fit of anger when Steven Lang spoke on television about Proposition X, an act that, if adopted through referendum, would require all mutants to undergo mandatory chemical birth control procedures.
