SDM Institute for Management Development Library is a resource centre in Mysore, India, for both teaching and learning. As the heart of an academic center, it is home for the institute's the information services. Its aim is to provide "Anytime, Anywhere access" to information.

The library contributes and supports the SDM Institute for Management Development in transforming talent into business leadership. It plays a proactive role in enabling access to information resources of all kinds and providing innovative, responsive and effective services to meet the changing needs of the academic community.

Vision

SDMIMD Knowledge Center brings Information Technology into its conventional offline services. To achieve more effectiveness, systematized approach and accountability of these offline services it has adopted NewGenLib Automation software.

The SDMIMD Knowledge Center offers the online services through Intranet. The OPAC Online Public Access Catalog http://opac.sdmimd.ac.in is provided to access the bibliographical information of the collection of the Center.

The e-Library is dedicated to provide the accessibility to the summer projects, contemporary reports and the alumni databases.

The Knowledge Center is unique in providing the Database Search Facility - the user will fill up the requisition slip mentioning the information required and it will be presented to the user within 8hrs. The request will be saved to his backup. It also provides the information in the prescribed format by converting the data retrieved.

SDMIMD Knowledge Center has an extempore collection of e-journals, both subscribed and free.

SDMIMD is promoting the Open Archive Initiative as well as the automation through NewGenLib. Keeping in the mind the placement activities, to build the awareness about the industry trend SDMIMD Knowledge Center started the corporate update services to its patrons - this service is provided by extracting the information from corporate databases, internet and company annual reports.

Presently SDMIMD subscribers to the Capitaline in electronic format, which details over 7000 companies. It also provides financial statements, ratio analysis, fund flows, product profiles, returns and risks on the stock markets, etc.

EBSCO is also one of the databases which SDM-IMD subscribes, which includes 1,200 journals online.
