S semmalai has appointed as temporary speaker for tamil nadu assembly
S. Semmalai is an Indian politician and incumbent member of the Parliament of India from Salem Constituency. He has one charge related to "attempt to murder" (IPC Section-307) and one charge related to "husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty" (IPC Section-498A).
Previously, he was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Taramangalam constituency as an Independent candidate in the 1980 election, and as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in 1984 election. He was elected from Omalur constituency as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in the 2001 election.
