S Nijalingappa Medical College, HSK (Hanagal Shree Kumareshwar) Hospital and Research Centre (SNMC) is a medical college based in Bagalkot, Karnataka, India. The graduate and post-graduate programs of the college are recognized by the Medical Council of India. The courses offered are also recognized by General Medical Council (UK), Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. The college has been recognized by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK, for the award of MRCOG. After the formation of JSS University (Established under Section-3 of UGC Act) JSS Medical College has become a constituent college of the JSS University from the Academic year 2008-2009. The students of this college are from all corners of India as well from Abroad.

Research

Research is carried out through National and International funded projects. Depression Brain Bank is in function. SNMC Body Donation Association registers and receives donations of bodies.

Library & Information Centre

The Central Library is spread over an area of 2 acre.

Undergraduate Courses

The college offers the four and a half year M.B.B.S. course with a one year compulsory rotating internship.

Postgraduate Courses

The College offers both the Post Graduate Degree and the Diploma Courses. The Degree course is of 3 years duration whereas the Diploma course is of 2 years.

Body Donation - SNMC Body Donation Association

This association was established in June 2000. The main purpose of this association is to receive the donor's bodies for corneal transplantation to the blind, research purposes, study of organs by the undergraduate, post-graduate and research students.

A regular yearly campaign is organized in the city to create awareness for the same.

Sports

The college has many facilities like enough space for playing the games viz., cricket, football, table tennis, volleyball, hockey badminton and in addition to it athletics and indoor games are also available. A permanent sports ground on par with National standards is also there in the campus along with a well equipped gym.
