S-Adenosyl--homocysteine (SAH) is an amino acid derivative used in several metabolic pathways in most organisms. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of cysteine and adenosine.
SAH is formed by the demethylation of S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM).
