Sûreté Nationale (Morocco)

The National Security or Moroccan Police (French: Sûreté nationale, Arabic: الأمن الوطني‎‎ Al-'Amn al-Waṭaniy) is the authoritative and main State police body of Morocco. The Sûreté Nationale is tasked with upholding the law and public order. It was founded on 16 May 1956 by King Mohammed V. By 2007 the police had 46000 personnel.
