Sørhjelmen Peak

Sorhjelmen Peak (71°48′S 26°28′E) is a peak, 2,030 m, standing at the head of Hette Glacier, at the south end of the group of peaks just east of the mouth of Byrdbreen in the Sor Rondane Mountains. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers in 1946 from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936–37, and in 1957 from air photos taken by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946-47. Named Sorhjelmen (the south helmet) by the Norwegians because of its position in the group.
