The fishing village of Sørarnøya covers the majority of the island of Sørarnøya. There are actually two islands, Sørarnøy and Nordarnøy, that are connected by a short bridge, that form the larger village area that the locals call "Arnøyene". The closest town to Sørarnøy is Bodø, to the north, which can be reached by boat.
