Rye Dale is the upper valley or dale of the River Rye in North Yorkshire, England. It lies at the western end of the North York Moors, and separates the main moorland plateau from the Hambleton Hills to the west.

The largest village in the valley is Rievaulx, the name of which is itself derived from a Norman-French version of Rye Dale and first applied to Rievaulx Abbey.

Bilsdale, the valley of the River Seph, joins Rye Dale 1 mile east of the village of Hawnby.
